checkout, i.e. without any of the autogenerated auto* stuff.
For a while I was using the auto tools/gettext that come with Fedora
Core 1, whatever they were (autoconf-2.5?, automake 1.7, gettext 0.12.1
I think). A while back I took the Rawhide stuff (autoconf-2.59, automake
1.8, gettext 0.14.1).
Well I kinda solved the problem (at least I found a workaround), I
copied over the whole AC_DEFUN(AM_PATH_IMLIB bit from e16.6's
aclocal.m4 into acinclude.m4. I don't really know why this was
necessary, (the stuff isn't even in the acinclude.m4 in e16.6) and I
compiled cvs before. But then again I don't really understand all this
auto* stuff. This is now with automake-1.7.9, autoconf-2.59, 0.14.1.
