Under wierd circumstances, that I can't document, the problem has solved it self. Thanks for your advice.

# e17/proto/esmart # e17/libs/edje # e17/libs/ewd </from>
you should first build the non-mentioned package ewd then edje and first the esmart
this was just what the ./configure-scripts said

Your missing/it can't find the file gtk.m4 (or something similar). Maybe it is
in some others place ... Look for that file in aclocal directories. Or maybe
you are missing a gtk-dev package...
