these are bugs in the respective programs (mozilla and xawtv). xprop and
xwininfo and xkill also have the same bug. many programs do. the people writing
these do not understand enough of x to write them properly :) they make wild
assumptions that are simply not valid ones. :( (i've grumbled about this for
like... 6 years now or so - but still the same bugs are there and keep being
written into new programs too).
