no i didnt do it to SOLVE this. i never said i did. in fact my changes BROKE the
script that trues to parse _pre in a version and thus engage broke. i did it to
solve inconsistent versioning across EFL packages i am putting up as tarball
snapshots regularly - done by an automated script. it means multiple releases of
the same package can go out in an easily automated fashion and you can
consistently compare what is newer or older. it basically adds another version
number.
