I *can* add that while I was still using my own desktop, and not a SunRay, I was using E0.16.7 and a number of Java applications through Java WebStart (which is how all the new stuff works here) and I never saw this behaviour in any of those applications. And some of them are pretty huge. The front end GUI to our bugs database - creating and editing, not just viewing - is a Java app. So's our Expenses tool, among others.
