iirc, entrance isn't handling pam sessions correctly, and actually closes
your pam session right as it logs you in.  there's a patch for entrance taht
sebastian wrote a while back that properly handles pam sessions(afaict).
xcomp vetoed it and it never got applied. :( entrance really does need some
lovin...
