I noticed your e-mail on a web mailing-list archive and it seems like the engrave compile issue is still plaguing you. I was having the same issue so I figured I'd just sign up and tell you what solved my problem. I couldn't really tell from the mailing-list archive whether you verified that you have bison and flex installed. If you had to installed them and still encountered the same problem after installing bison and flex: You probably just need to do a 'make clean' in the engrave directory to get rid of the old files that were compiled while you didn't have bison and flex. after you 'make clean' just run 'make' again and the compile should work fine (make clean is crucial). I used automake 1.9. I know this is the devel mailing-list so sorry if my suggestion is blatantly obvious or if you've already tried this. Either way, good luck with it.
