right now ecore_x considerd 4 &5 to be wheel 0, buttons 6 &  7 are wheel 1 - it
doesnt know about 8 & 9, but in e17 they will be useless and unused as e will
disallow their use. in all practicality buttons > 5 are a hack and work as a
biproduct, x wasn't desing for mice with > 5 buttons. there are x input device
extensions for complex input devices, but really any buttons beyond 5 is going
beyond x's core pointer design (but amazingly somehow mostly works most of the
time).
