I somehow managed to get evolume installed twice on my machine (once
in modules/ and the other in modules_extra/).
Removing both and reinstalling fixed it, sorry for the false alarm. ;/

Me again. :) It appears, when I got this working, that I installed the
0.0.14 version, not 0.0.19 ;). After removing the two copies I had
installed v0.0.19 and, this time making sure of it, I get this error
upon loading:

There was an error loading module named: evolume
The full path to this module is: evolume/linux-gnu-i686/module.so
The error reported was: libemixer.so.0: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory.

I have no such file libemixer.so.0 on my machine, but the compile log
for evolume 0.0.19 mentions compiling libemixer.so, but does not seem
to install it.
