Unfortunately, "octet-stream" isn't really a MIME type, it's a
fallback that could be anything.  An "octet stream" is nothing but a
series of bytes, literally.

Since most viruses are also found in application/octet-stream
attachments, it seems quite reasonable to filter those out.

Besides, those who send enough patches to the list to really be
affected should have commit access anyway.  Which you have, BTW.  So
stop sending patches and just commit.  That way more people can review
the changes, and they're still quite easy to back out if needed.  :)
