I doubt emotion will work "as is", one of the reasons is that maemo
don't ship with libxine and their gstreamer requires different
pipelines due them using dspmp3sink and like (decores + sink). But I'm
also afraid that converting YUV->RGB and bliting will not be fast...
Mplayer (the best player there) need to write YUV directly to
FrameBuffer in order to get reasonable playback.

yes, you can run it with Qemu (used by scratchbox), but in order to
get good performance, you need to compile for arm1136j-s and Qemu
doesn't support some instructions there (support exist, but ARM don't
allow the developers to release as open source).
