Give it a shot and see if it fixes the issues you experienced.
You might also want to look at evas' hsv-to-rgb function:
evas_common_convert_color_hsv_to_rgb
in the file:
evas/src/lib/engines/common/evas_convert_color.c
try using its implementation in the imlib2 function (instead of the
current imlib2 one) and see if that helps.
