The configure script display if you have wpa_supplicant and his path to the end but if you do not have wpa_supplicant the configure will failed.
If you do not have a wireless interface you do not need exalt. 99% of people will use exalt from a package and these packages will be build with the support of wpa_supplicant. Now If you tell me you need exalt on something special where you do not want the support of wireless interface and you need a friendly way to configure a wired interface ok ... But I think this situation is rare. 2009/4/25 E-Trac <[email protected]> > #284: exalt does not build without optional wpa_supplicant > > --------------------------------------+------------------------------------- > Reporter: odietsch | Owner: Watchwolf > Type: Bug | Status: closed > Priority: Minor | Milestone: > Component: exalt | Resolution: Fixed > Keywords: exalt wpa wpa_supplicant | Blocking: > Blockedby: | > > --------------------------------------+------------------------------------- > > Comment(by odietsch): > > Replying to [comment:2 Watchwolf]: > > Replying to [comment:1 Watchwolf]: > > > fixed #40355 > > > > > > dhclient is optionnal but recommended, if you don't have it you > couldn't use the dhcp. > > > wpa_supplicant is now required and the configure will failed if you > didn't have it. > > > > > > hum ... > > you will not be able to to use the dhcp without dhclient > > > > and 40355 is a commit and not a ticket ... > > > > :) > > Hi, sorry for bugging you with this, but the configure script is still > stating wpa_supplicant as optional which is kind of misleading. > Additionally: is there any particular reason for it being a hard-coded > dependency?
