This is not really SUSE specific. I have also had this bug in Gentoo. About 
a year ago I had tried to debug it, and was looking through gdb and 
following the functions. I could see my password being *correctly* passed 
around the e17 functions and at some point, it got lost/hidden in some 
MAGIC (can't exactly remember where). 

The problem is that I will have to relearn gdb again to debug it now (all 
that I remember to use now is bt :P). There is one aspect which I have 
found quite strange. This bug is usually not triggered unless I lock the 
screen, then suspend my laptop for an hour or two, and then resume and try 
to unlock. If I just lock the screen and keep it like that, I can easily 
unlock it. It is a suspend/resume cycle that triggers the bug.
