I have also had this bug in Gentoo. About a year ago I had tried to debug it, and was looking through gdb and following the functions. I could see my password being *correctly* passed around the e17 functions and at some point, it got lost/hidden in some MAGIC (can't exactly remember where).
The problem is that I will have to relearn gdb again to debug it now (all that I remember to use now is bt :P). There is one aspect which I have found quite strange. This bug is usually not triggered unless I lock the screen, then suspend my laptop for an hour or two, and then resume and try to unlock. If I just lock the screen and keep it like that, I can easily unlock it. It is a suspend/resume cycle that triggers the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Let Crystal Reports handle the reporting - Free Crystal Reports 2008 30-Day trial.
