I don't know yet. I may consider writing a library that will just
convert an uri to a local path as a char* and use fuse to mount the
right filesystem (so we don't create yet another vfs).
I was dreaming about at the same functionality (mount with fuse
and return char*) for a while. Do you have any experience with
fuse? what fs type will be supported using fuse?
note that fuse is not supported on Windows
