Well, thats just it - it would move them off the screen *eventually* just not right away/suddenly like it does with virtual desktops. I think this in combination with a dynamically created maximum screen size would make for a rich user experience. If you could also allow the user to zoom in and zoom out (essentially dynamically resize all the windows on the desktop) would be interesting.
