it selects what style you want for effects - like shadows, window appearing and
disappearing, being focused or not etc. theme can provide as many of these as
it likes. the default one is the one provided by default if nothing else
matches the window popping up. the apps, e, over, menus tabs select what style
to use for what windows, popups, dialogs, menus and other elements that appear
on the screen. apps has a LIST of matches that for example you can match
"xterm" and make it use some different style of appearing/being
focused/whatever in the compositor. the E list is for E internal elements like
popups, shelves etc. - these have names actually. thus match an element of name
X to a style Y. (and if it is ARGB or not ARGB etc.) Over is overrid-eredirect
windows - menus for example are these. as are often notifications and other
things. menus are actually e's own menus. they dont have names - so you can
basically just say argb menus get style X and non-argb get style Y for example.
