Please elaborate and I'll let the guy that's working on it know (+ spank 
him).

IIRC _event_history_clear is responsible for refeeding all the evas 
events after a gesture has been aborted. So for example, you'd be able 
to click on a button below the gesture layer without any adjustments.

This mode is pretty experimental (or at least I consider it as such), so 
please let me know if you see any problems with it.
