Hi all, particularly zmike and DaveMDS:

What if we had gadgets on desk lock? Should be as simple to add as in
background or overlay, should be useful to add a calendar or clock to desktop,
a notification panel to some mobile phones.

The only trick would be to not allow those to be added or changed from the lock
screen when it was locked, then how to allow user to place and customize it?
Maybe set a flag and start lock screen, then check it was set and allows
customization until its unlocked?

This idea came to my mind after looking at Tizen mess wit screen lock. If we
could offer an extensible solution maybe they could use it? Right now what I
see usable from screen lock in mobiles are:
  - different unlock methods: password with vkbd, fingerprint reader, pattern
matching (android), face recognition
  - emergency calls: phones must provide a way to dial 911 (or local variants)
even if the phone is blocked.
   - notifications: unread mails, SMS count, missed calls...

All of those could be done using gadgets way, what do you think? We could even
turn the current desk lock password field into that. Maybe a flag to gadgets to
say where they are expected to be used?
