This would require some more work, since the tarballs are dirty and when i do this, then with clean and self created tarballs. Since there is yet no known ETA for a release of e17, there is a good chance for at least 1.7.1 efl release before an e17 release, so my questions is: Is it worth the additional work for 1.7.0? > - Terminology 0.1 (as per Rasterman's announcement) This will probably require efl-1.7, right? > - Python EFL 1.7 (as per my announcement today) Those will also require efl-1.7? > - WebKit-EFL > http://packages.profusion.mobi/webkit-efl/webkit-efl-svn-r127150.tar.bz2 > this is required to build Elementary with "web" support (use flag). > I'll take care to do a proper announcement later this week. From the comments i got on IRC, webkit-efl is not ready yet, beside that it requires versions for some dependencies which are not yet packaged for Gentoo. So currently not possible to create something, that can be supported. > > As for the existing overlays, I'd ask: > - add to official overlay: > - dev-libs/eio I already see that in there, was already added in 2010, maybe you should update your copy? ;-) > - net-libs/webkit-efl See above > - net-libs/azy Is this even used anywhere? > - dev-util/clouseau Usefull for Gentoo users? > - x11-themes/detourious > - net-misc/econnman I can have a look into those. > - dev-util/editje > - dev-javascript/elev8 Anything using those? > - dev-libs/ephysics > - dev-db/esskyuehl Can also have a look into those. > - rename to proper categories in official overlay: > - expedite: x11-misc -> app-benchmarks > - elementary: x11-libs -> media-libs I may do this, when i add a package to the main tree with a working release, but i see no reason to do those cosmetic changes in the overlay. > I'm not sure about most E17 extra-modules, discomfitor/zmike was > reviewing them for inclusion into core, then I'd assume everything > that is outside of core should not be package as they are either > unmaintained or do not work as expected.
