actually I've experienced these issues even the last time I rebuilt E, but I thought they were transitional problems due to work in progress and so I've never reported them. now I've rebuilt all and they are still there, so here I am :)
1) when I want to shutdown my laptop I always use the power button, now it
seems to be not working anymore. well, when I hit the button the event is
captured, E shows me the confirmation dialog, but even if click "power off"
nothing happens. using system->power off in the main menu does work, but the
system is halted directly with no confirmation dialogs (which would be fine to
me :)
2) in thunderbird, if I'm replying to a message and close the window the
mailer asks me if I want to save a draft or if I want to discard the message.
well, if I choose to discard it the compose window is not closed, remains on
the screen and if click on the close button in its border thunderbird crashes.
if I switch to another workspace and back to the previous the window is not
there anymore, so basically it looks like a ghost window. I've always had a
similar problem even with synaptics, but I've always thought it was a synaptic
problem until now.
3) this has always been there, but just now I realized what is causing it.
sometimes when I shutdown the system E is not able to close the pidging
window, so it waits a bit and then asks me if it have to wait or if it have to
immediately close the session. now I realized that it happens only when I'm
not on the virtual desktop where pidgin is. I have four workspaces in a row
and pidgin is always on dektop 1, so if I'm on 1 when halting the system E is
able to close the pidgin window, if I'm elsewhere it can't.
