I like the default behavior but i can understand there are times it can be really annoying. If i were you i would already send it through phab so we can have a proper discussion over it. Make sure to add billiob as a reviewer, even if it ends up not getting accepted having it on phab with a proper discussion underneath is better imho (esp if you need to make changes or rework it). -- Regards, Alex-P.
