Fixed now. It was hiding behind a different bug introduced by rg_etc and after this was fixed another bug was coming up from the same range of commits. All fixed now but it only leaves me one option... CEEEEEEEDDDDDRRRRIIIIICCCCCC, PUT -wshadow INTO YOUR CFLAGS AND ACTUALLY RUN MAKE DISTCHECK.
