If I understand Daniel correctly, I think what he's trying to say is
that he's concerned about the creep of sub-quality code, API and ideas
into our already polluted code-base. He's concerned this creep will only
grow bigger with backdoor commit access, and by that I mean, giving
someone commit access to work on one thing, only to find him work on
others, without the due process. Essentially what you guys consider as a
good thing ("him fixing issues as he sees them"), Daniel (and I tend to
agree) consider as a bad thing, at least when it's not agreed that that
developer can be trusted to work on the main repos without review.
Essentially, why not just give commit access to everyone?
