It's late for me so I won't try to think on your first question.

As soon as I saw the "nonnull" attribute, I was interested. I think I
haven't gotten anything from it however. Maybe I did something wrong but
it seemed to only catch obvious mistakes, ones which you get in gdb in a
few seconds anyway (spawn, wait for crash, see it's dereferencing NULL,
check backtrace, see there's a NULL in parameters 3 calls earlier,
done).
I really wish it was better but I'm under the impression it's not
bringing much currently.
