As I said in my email to Daniel when he asked about it. Our whole 
release process is here to serve us and our API stability. It's here to 
make sure we behave in ways that help us release higher quality 
software. Usually adhering the rigid schedule works and everything is 
fine. Every now and then, circumstances demand flexibility. I don't 
think your API will harm the stability/quality of this release. Or more 
correctly, if you added it a few hours ago, no one would have said 
anything, so I think it's OK.

My only concern is the ever growing requests by people to get in new API 
during the freeze period.

Anyhow, I say: let's wait until tomorrow, if no one objects, get it in. 
People can obviously still object later on too, and at that point, we 
may choose to remove it. I for one am in favour.
