The next openSUSE release is getting close enough that the next couple of weeks would be really good otherwise life gets harder.
In terms of releasing, as your using autotools, you should run ./configure, followed by "make dist" this will produce a tarball with your release, you should then extract that tar and check that ./configure; make ; sudo make install successfully builds and install your app. You should also make sure you have the version set right in autotools, i'm sure someone will correct me if i missed anything.
