Hi, I am adding this late comment in case someone needs it. I am new to E and I wanted similar functionality of Gnome's workspaces to dock extension. Here is a workaround for a gadget (pager in my case) First put a big pager (or your gadget) on the right side of the desktop with stacking set to "above all windows" and set autohide.
