Hi Andy,

The plan is at some point to be rid of shelves and gadcon.  Then Bryce will
be your bar style area. Gadgets will be modules that can be added to a
Bryce or straight to the desktop.  Bryce is very functional here with great
gadgets already... Luncher (replaces ibar+tasks), pager, Batman (battery),
cpumonitor, memusage, netstatus, wireless (connman), and start. Really all
that gadcon/shelves have that Bryce/gadgets don't is mixer, systray, and
xkbswitch. The new gadget API is a million times easier to use than gadcon
in my opinion as well, so that will encourage more gadgets hopefully. I'm
not sure what release this is all planned for, but there is a foundation
now.
