For probie access I see no problem. Given that basically it is the same as submitting patches via phab but just using git branches directly.

For full developer access in the future we would actually need to build up trust over a longer period. Most probie access gets granted when the person already contributed patches through phab. For Robert I have not seen a single patch with his author name in the efl or E repos. (Maybe they have not been attributed correctly?)

That does not stand in the way of probie access though, just needs longer period of trust building.
