Today I decided to take a look at Evidence and install it in my RH9 distro. I fetched the evidence rpm at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=58061 I installed evidence-0.9.6-1 But before that I had to install 1. evas-1.0.0-pre11light 2. and checked that I have the following installed: imlib2-1.0.6-1 libjpeg-6b-26 libpng-1.2.2-16 freetype-2.1.3-6 then did a rpm -ivh --nodeps evidence-0.9.6-pre6.i386.rpm and I had evidence fully running in RH9 E. The only problem is that when you have a png file, it loads the default png icon instead of showing the actual image. This is because of the following: --------------------------------------------------------------------- libpng warning: Application was compiled with png.h from libpng-1.0.9 libpng warning: Application is running with png.c from libpng-1.2.2 libpng error: Incompatible libpng version in application and library ---------------------------------------------------------------------- My libpng library is too new!!! But I do not wish too downgrade it either! Any suggestions for the small problem?
