It's location could be:
/etc/X11/gdm/Sessions (For Gnome 1.4 versions)
or
/etc/gnome/gdm/Sessions (For Gnome 2.0 versions)
In that folder, create a file named Enlightenment. In that file just put: #!/bin/sh /opt/enlightenment/bin/enlightenment
The path of course should be changed to where ever the enlightenment binary is placed. Then save the file. Now make the file executable. (chmod +x Enlightenment)
That should do it. Works for me on my LinuxFromScratch system. Curtis
