First I must rectify... Download the epplets base from the SF page rather
than CVS. Let's leave CVS for developers :-)

A quick way to download would be:

wget
http://unc.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/enlightenment/epplet-base-0.5.tar.gz

Then untar everything. Go into the directory and do a "./configure".

Then make sure the following are installed on RH9:

1. imlib-devel
2. glut-devel
3. esound-devel

Use apt on freshrpms to install those packages. If you try to install
manually, you'll get a hell number of dependencies.

Backup ~/.enlightenment/user_apps.menu as it will be overwritten by
e_gen_menu!

After the "./configure", do a "make", then su as root to do a " make
install".

Then run the "e_gen_menu" script located in
/usr/share/enlightenment/scripts/

After that you will see an epplet menu added where you can just click
to load any epplets. But your own user_app menu
will be overwritten. So if you made a backup, then just overwrite it back.

Hope this helps.

With kind regards,

Didier
