I tried the following command and understood that fonts are
loaded on demand. Thanks for the info.

  $ Eterm --mfont1 k14
  Eterm: Error: Unable to load font "abcdefghijiklmn". Falling back on "k14"

In any case, if fonts in attributes context and multichar context
are correct ones, in case of "font default 0", my Eterm uses a
font specified with "--mfont" option and does not use a font
specified in theme.cfg/user.cfg. In case of "font default 1" or
"font default 2", etc..., the Eterm uses a font specified in
theme.cfg/user.cfg and ignores the one specified with "--mfont1",
"--mfont2", etc.. even if a value of the option is "abcdefg".
As a result, when using Japanese fonts with my Eterm, it seems to be
necessary to always use "--mfont" or "--mfont(n)" option on the command
line. My Eterm will fail to display Japanese text without these
options if font definitions in theme.cfg/user.cfg are correct.

Regards
