the Xorg version you are interested it hasn't come out yet. It was supposed to come out on the 25th august, but it still has a few blocker bugs, one of them affecting E itself.
I've been running Xorg and Enlightenment for a couple of months now (under Mandrakelinux "Cooker"/beta) without problems. However, as of yesterday, E won't run, giving instead:
X server setup error
FATAL ERROR:
This X server does not support the Shape extension.
This is required for Enlightenment to run.
Your X server probably is too old or misconfigured.
Versions are xorg-x11-6.7.0-0.2.12mdk and enlightenment-0.16.7.1-1mdk . . . I'm wondering if I've run into a temporary X.org vs. E problem due to upgrades, or if I've simply run into more PEBKAC :-)
For now, I'm stuck in KDE, as I don't know where to begin troubleshooting (if it's not simply a matter of waiting for bugs to be worked out) . . . still largely a newbie here, but would appreciate any thoughts on how to track down/fix, if possible.
TIA
