I'd love to give e16menuedit2 a try, but it seems impossible to build
under Slackware.

e16menuedit2 requires xmlto. Ok, so I download xmlto. Try to build
xmlto and it seems to demand that I be online while building to access
http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.2/docbookx.dtd ((It is a
shame it can't access the version of this file already on my computer
at: /opt/kde/share/apps/ksgmltools2/docbook/xml-dtd-4.2/docbookx.dtd
but anyway...))

I get online and try to build, it gets as far as:

What exactly is needed to build this? What package or dependancy am I
apparently missing? The only clue xmlto-0.0.18 seems to provide is
this:
Q: I'm trying to build xmlto on my Debian box, but it doesn't work.

A: If you get `Attempt to load network entity' errors when building
xmlto, your system does not have the required support for XML
   Catalogs
   (http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/entity/spec-2001-08-06.html).
In particular, Debian has no support for these. Try the Fedora
   Project <http://fedora.redhat.com>.

It doesn't seem to be the same error, and I'm definitely not changing
distros just to get a gui to edit E's menus.

Slackware-current
kernel-2.6.8.1
autoconf-2.59-noarch-1
autofs-3.1.7-i386-1
automake-1.9.2-noarch-1
libtool-1.5.10-i486-1
gcc-3.3.4-i486-1

Thanks for any suggestions,
Brad
