Hi, ok when I first installed libast 6 i let it decide
where to install it. If i run locate libast it tells
me i have files in /usr/lib and usr/local/lib.
I then remove the old libast directory created after
untarring the file and start again. I run configure
and then make uninstall then run ldconfig but the
files are still there.

I then removed all the files by hand, then ran
ldconfig and updatedb. Locate libast returned nothing
and there was no references to any libast libraries
when i ran ldconfig -p.

I then re untarred libast 5, ran configure then done a
make and make install. I can then run the configure in
the eterm package and then do a make install.

That seems to work now, cheers guys.
