I tried your suggestion, but it didn't work.  

For example, my evolution.eap has a window class of Evolution.  I
started Evolution from the terminal, and it's window class was the same.
There's something else going on that I'm not seeing.

BTW, XMMS used to do the same thing, until I changed my xmms.eap used in
engage to the one supplied with Enlightenment.  Now when I start XMMS,
no further icons appear in engage.  I compared the xmms.eap I created to
the one included with enlightenment, and the details were the same.  The
only difference is that if I use my xmms.eap in engage, starting XMMS
creates another icon in enage.  What gives?
