Thanks for the help with the backgrounds! The list_bg
and use_bg commands have done the trick for me. Very
different from what I was expecting, but it all works
in the end.
Good. Btw, I forgot to mention that the E-Slides epplet also might do
what you want.
I have another question though. If there are several
items on the top layer, how is it determined which is
the highest of them?
The stacking of application windows in the same layer is determined by a
number of different actions and features. Windows can be raised/lowered
using ctrl-alt-up/down, by clicking in it (option), by using the focus
list (alt-tab, various options), and by using autoraise.
In context, I have a button
which is set to `on top', and I believe it needs to be
most of the time (as it needs to be over things set to
`above'), however, it is a little annoying when
watching a movie. Though I have set mplayer to `on
top' too, so that it covers items set to `above' when
full screened, this one button stays over the top.
If you are talking about buttons like there are in certain themes, e.g.
Aqua, they will be either above or below any application window. Wheter
it is one or the other is configured in some theme file.
Is there a way I can make it so that mplayer is the
most on top of the items on top?
If it is an on-top button that is bothering you, you can change it to
below in the theme, or you can toggle all buttons off with ctrl-alt-a.
If it is some other application window, enabling "Raise fullscreen
windows" (in "Window Placement Settings") may be useful.
