Sorry about that: I forgot to mention which version of
Enlightenment! Yes, e16 with the e-slides epplet.

I have not made any updates to the system since I
changed back to Enlightenment (that PC does not have a
connection to the Internet), so none of the libraries
could have changed between when they did work and now.
It is also only a couple of the images: most work
fine, so it seems unlikely the problem could relate to
the format (png, jpeg, etc).
