xine-lib-1.1.1 is the current release, it's the only one available to
download from their sf.net pages. I installed it into it's default
place, changed the emotion check to 1.1.1, and emotion plus all things
that depend on emotion compiled.

Ecliar and envision play videos and unencrypted, unregioned DVDs with
navigation menus and work as expected using xine 1.1.1. I have no
encrypted or regioned DVDs. Hollywood could learn a lot from the porn
industry. B-)

Elation segvs after a disk is inserted. It ignores any filename passed
to it and tries to play the dvd, but again segvs.

Two out of three apps working poperly from an unstable, unreleased cvs
checkout qualifies as "WORKING" in my book. I'll leave it up to raster
to commit the check for 1.1.1.
