Hello,
I would like to have top running in a borderless transparent window all
the time on my desktop. Therefore I have run this command: "Eterm --trans
-f Orange --scrollbar false --buttonbar false -e top -d 00.50" and used
the "Remember" function from the widow menu. But for some reason, e just
remembers command "Eterm" without any parameters (stored in file
.e16/e_config--0.0.snapshots, and after logout-login, just simple Eterm
pops-up on the screen). I'm using e16.8-0.02 version. This feature was not
there with older e16.8 versions (e16.8-pre1).
I assume the version really is 0.16.8.1-0.02 or so, i.e. CVS after
0.16.8 was released. 0.16.8-0.02 would be more than a year old.
You are right, this should just work, and it does for me.
There should be an entry in .e16/e_config--0.0.snapshots like:
NEW: top.Eterm
WIN: 0xa00043
NAME: top
CLASS: Eterm
CMD: Eterm --trans -f Orange --scrollbar false --buttonbar false -e top
-d 00.50
"eesh rl a" should report an entry like:
Snapshot Name: top.Eterm In use - 0xa00043
Window Name> top
Window Class> Eterm
command: Eterm --trans -f Orange --scrollbar false
--buttonbar false -e top -d 00.50
Nothing has been changed (deliberately) in the snapshots department in ages.
You may have some stale remembered settings around. If so, try removing
them ("Settings" -> "Remember Settings ...").
Also try removing the entry for your top window and add it again.
If none of this helps, please send me your .e16/e_config--0.0.snapshots.
/Kim
