Not that I really know how e does its thing

actually u'd be surprised the # of places e tries to match such things... :)
really i just need to find such things differently - that's all.

the threshold of surprising me is quite high, but there are other
emotions that are more easily triggered :P

I woulda thunk that when a window appears, e matches the window to an
eap and saves some kind of pointer in es window struct.. and thinking
about it, some kind of hookback from the eap cache to keep things fresh

.. judging from your summary, I'd say my assumptions are wrong. I would
also guess things are this way for a reason.. If anyone have some spare
time and writes up a little story about this subject, I would be very
intrigued to read it.. however, it would add nothing to the community
(aside from some archived documentation, naturally) so I wouldn't expect
any such thing :)

Oh, and btw, the shelf is looking better and better with time.. do you
have a list of known bugs somewhere? (glanced at BUGS and TODO)
I have noticed some things about it that I'm sure everyone else also
have seen, but it never hurts to check the master list :)
