Hi, I was having the same problem you have, but only have it in one of my machines the other one was fine, both of them running slackware 10.2, kernel 2.6.17.1 the only diferent is the kernel config file and that the one was having the problem is a laptop.
what i done to solve the problem (momentarily) backup the file /usr/include/linux/input.h symlink the file /usr/src/linux-2.6.17/include/linux/input.h to /usr/include/linux/input.h where linux-2.6.17 is the folder where are the 2.6.17 kernel source and that is, it work for me, i just updated e17 and ecore was fine, restart the machine and two days machine working no problem.
