Hello,
I pulled E-17 in off the E-live site (tests branch) by:
(a):su to root
(b): editing /etc/apt/sources.list
(c): apt-get -update
(d):apt-get dist-upgrade.
(e): update-alternatives --config x-session manager
(f): reboot
(g): x-session chooser menu choose Enlightenment
(h): usual user name >enter< ; psswd >enter<
(i): nice blank grey screen with no applications or interaction between
input devices (eg: mouse or keyboard)
(j): hard kill (power off) to reboot
(k): x-session chooser enlightenment-gnome ...usrname > < ; pswd > <
(l): E-17 nice but not exactly what I expected.
I did muck about with some config. but decided to exit out to the std.
gdm-gnome until I understand what I need to do. Now I guess that I do
not actually know if gdm was running or if entrance was serving the 'E'
environment.
I did very much like the environment (long time Enlightenment user..
from Red Hat days, before falling in love with Debian), but I dropped
out to read the Get-E documentation (still trying to get the time).
So, Any ideas?
Thank you,
matthew
