Hi all, I'd like to announce a new mixer module, hopefully it will be included into apps/e/src/modules after some testing from you.
GIT-Web UI: http://staff.get-e.org/?p=users/barbieri/e_module-mixer.git GIT: git clone git://staff.get-e.org/users/barbieri/e_module-mixer.git TARBALL: http://staff.get-e.org/~barbieri/e_module-mixer.tar.bz2 SCREENSHOT: http://staff.get-e.org/~barbieri/e17_mixer.png FAQ: Q: Yet another module? A: yes, every man needs to do its own mixer module. Now serious, none of the existing had the requisites I wanted. Q: From scratch or based on something else? A: Based on e_modules/echo from devilhorns. I just changed the name because I find mixer more appropriate. Q: What was changed? A: Refactor, almost rewrite, new backend ("system") implementation, better UI, added a mixer application (it's simple, but does the work, built in, no need of external apps). Q: Benefits? A: Simpler code, more configuration options without impact on the usability (it still feels simple, big thanks to INdT UI designers!). Aside from the new mixer API, it's now possible to select in module configuration which gadget will handle the "actions" (key bindings). It's possible to show just one slider if you like the channels to be locked. Q: Add to apps/e? A: Yes, I asked some people on IRC and some, including raster, agreed that it would be good to have such module integrated, it's a "system" thing, like battery, monitor, ...
