I think this must some problem that occurs when updating an "old" e16 
installed either from configure ... make install or from SF rpm to the 
one in the Fedora repo. The Fedora one does (I think) some magic to 
avoid including the vera ttf files by linking to the ones provided by 
the bitstream-vera-fonts package.
If possible I think this should be fixed in the Fedora rpm's.
Otherwise I assume that "rm -rf /usr/share/e16/themes/winter/ttfonts" 
will fix the update.
