Hi,

I seem to be finding bug heaven this week... Ok, after a fresh install
of Ubuntu 8.10 and a fresh build of e17 on my laptop, I'm having some
screen resolution issues. Ubuntu is *HIGHLY* suspect as the root cause
of this, but I thought I'd start here first. When Entrance first
starts, the screen resolution on my notebook is set for 1024x768 and
everything (apps, fonts, etc) scales properly. When I get to work and
attach my Dell monitor, the screen resolution is way off. The Dell
monitor can do 1280x1024 @ 60Hz with no problem. I then go to E17's
control panel and set the screen resolution to 1280x1024 @ 60hz and I
save those settings. I log out of E17. The Entrance login screen is
now at the correct resolution. I log back into E17 and everything
scales to the correct resolution of 1280x1024. If I don't follow those
steps, the font size in my applications, ie. Firefox or Thunderbird, is
*HUGE*. Now here's where it gets really crazy; If I set the different
resolutions in my xorg.conf file and reboot, Entrance shows up at
1280x1024 @ 60hz.. BUT.. when I log into E17, the screen resolution is
correct, however, the font size of my applications are GIANT sized! I
log out and back in, but no change. Removing the resolution lines in
xorg.conf and rebooting puts me right back to what I described in the
beginning of this message.

Has anyone, who is using Ubuntu Intrepid on a notebook, experiencing
anything similar ? I'm going to post this the the Ubuntu list because,
again, I didn't have this issue when I was using Ubuntu 8.0.4. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
