It would appear that on Feb 6, sda did say:

Thank you for the links...

Do I understand the info in the 2nd link correctly that if I do a:

sudo zypper ar
"http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:/dmitry_serpokryl:/Enlightenment-cvs-core-metapackage/openSUSE_11.0";
 Enlightenment

Then simply be able to use zipper to install E17 AND update my
installed E16 without future "zipper updates" breaking them???

And do I also understand that after I did the above, doing a:
zipper search enlightenment
or
zipper search e16
or
zipper search e17
would find more good "e" stuff than it finds now??

And about the links on the first site that talk about one click
installs... I'd me much happier adding these sites as zypper repos and
let ONE package manager handle any/all dependency issues. But I'm not
so sure what would happen if I did for example an:

sudo zypper ar
http://opensuse.ca.unixheads.org/repositories/X11:/Enlightenment/openSUSE_11.0/X11:Enlightenment.repo

Or perhaps an:

sudo zypper ar
"http://opensuse.ca.unixheads.org/repositories/X11:/Enlightenment/openSUSE_11.0/X11:Enlightenment.repo";
 Enlightenment

{using the above zypper ar example from the *2nd link coupled with the
mirror found for my IP at the "kind of 'official' " repo listed in the
*1st link ( *quoted from 'sda' above) }

I've never added repos that the dvd installer didn't put in zypper's
config files before. I did learn to zap the one that made it want me
to find and insert the dvd every time I wanted to do an zypper
install... But I'm really not so sure about how to properly add a
repo?????????????????????????????????

One thing though. I noticed a lot of attention being given on those
links to booting e from a guilogin manager.... PLEASE tell me that
there aren't any files I might zipper from these sites that could maybe
break my *chosen method of booting to a console login and then as a user
running startx from a script that first copies my selected xinitrc file
to ~/.xinitrc???

        * { I NEVER want to see ANY gui till I ask for it.
            And that goes triple for the login screen. }

Thanks again!
