I've found that I have 5 directories in /proc/acpi/video/GFX0 with names from
DD01 to DD05.
every dir contains a "brihtness" file, but only DD02/brightness can be used to
set the display brightness:

m...@rubino:~ cat /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD01/brightness
<not supported>
m...@rubino:~ cat /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD02/brightness
levels:  10 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100
current: 100

echoing a different level to the file in DD02 tweaks the lcd brightness, so at
least for the moment I will not become blind :)

is there any way to make E use that file instead of the one in DD01?
